We’re living in a wild time. Confusion is everywhere. The definition of family has changed. Kids are being pushed into identity decisions they’re not ready for. Right and wrong have been flipped on their heads. It’s heartbreaking.
But here’s the truth: this isn’t new. What we’re seeing in our culture is the same kind of rebellion against God that’s been happening since the days of Daniel. Sexual perversion, child sacrifice, broken families—it’s old demonic deception wrapped in new packaging.
In Daniel 2, we find ourselves looking at a godly young man thrown into a culture full of chaos and sin. Daniel had every reason to lose hope. He was ripped from his home, made a slave, and stripped of his future. But instead of losing his identity, he became an influence. Daniel and his friends stood strong and ended up shaping the very culture that tried to destroy them.
That’s our calling too.
God didn’t put you in 2025 by accident. He placed you here to make a difference. Not just to rant or react, but to respond with wisdom, grace, and truth. That’s what Daniel did. When everything was falling apart, he didn’t panic—he prayed. And God gave him the answer the king needed.
Here’s what we’ve got to remember:
God is in control. He’s not surprised by anything going on. He raises up kings and tears them down. He sees what’s hidden in darkness. He holds the whole world in His hands.
God wants to speak through you. Our world is confused and hurting. God wants to use you—at your job, in your family, in your neighborhood—to speak life. The Holy Spirit doesn’t fill us just to make us feel good. He fills us for function. He gives us wisdom to bring solutions and hope to a broken world.
God made you for this time. You weren’t born in the wrong era. You were born for such a time as this. Jesus Himself, when facing the cross, said, “For this reason I came to this hour.” (John 12:27)
Yes, we are living in a season of hostility. The world hates truth. But we’re also living in a season of harvest. The Gospel is still changing lives. People are hungry for real hope, not the empty answers culture gives. And finally, we’re in a season of holiness. It’s time to be set apart. Not perfect—just fully surrendered.
Let’s be people like Daniel—full of grace, full of truth, full of the Spirit. Let’s pray more than we complain. Let’s believe that even in the mess, God is moving.
He’s got the whole world in His hands—including yours.
