Until The Time of The End

Living with Hope Until the Time of the End

If you’ve ever tried golf, you know the goal is to keep your ball in the fairway. Stray too far into the deep rough, and things get a lot harder. That’s kind of what Daniel 7–12 feels like — it’s the “deep stuff” of the Bible. But unlike golf, the deep stuff here is actually exciting, because it shows us how God is in control of history, the future, and eternity
.

Daniel’s final visions pull back the curtain on world events, spiritual battles, and the ultimate triumph of God’s Kingdom. Some of it has already happened. Some of it is happening now. And some of it is still to come.

Here are the big takeaways for us today:

1. God’s Kingdom Outlasts Every Other Kingdom

Daniel saw visions of powerful beasts representing empires — Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome. Each seemed unstoppable in their time, but every one eventually fell. In contrast, Daniel saw the Ancient of Days seated on the throne and the Son of Man given eternal authority (Daniel 7:13–14).

The message is clear: human kingdoms rise and fall, but God’s Kingdom never ends. If you’re looking for lasting security, it won’t be found in money, politics, or power. It’s only found in Christ.

2. History Proves God’s Word Is True

Daniel’s prophecies were so specific — about Alexander the Great, his four generals, and even the desecration of the Jewish Temple — that historians can match them directly with world events. God’s Word isn’t guesswork; it’s accurate and trustworthy.

When the world feels chaotic, we can anchor ourselves in Scripture, knowing God already sees the future and holds it in His hands.

3. Be Ready for the End

Daniel was told that in the time of the end, “many will be purified, cleansed, and refined by these trials. But the wicked will continue in their wickedness… only those who are wise will know what it means” (Daniel 12:9–10 NLT).

Jesus echoed this in Matthew 24:42: “So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.”

The point? Don’t wait until things get rough to decide where you stand. Make your decision now. Stay faithful now. When chaos increases, your foundation will already be firm.

So What Do We Do Until Then?

Influence as many as possible for Jesus.
This isn’t the time to coast spiritually. It’s the time to reach more people than ever before — in our families, neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces.

Decide to follow God, not culture.
The pressure to compromise will only get stronger. But we don’t follow trends; we follow Christ.

The Final Question

Daniel asked, “How will all this finally end?” (Daniel 12:8). The angel didn’t give him a timeline. Instead, the answer was about faithfulness: stay true, stay purified, stay ready.

So let’s ask ourselves: Am I ready for the return of Jesus?

The end of Daniel — and the end of history — isn’t about fear. It’s about hope. Hope that no matter how chaotic the world gets, Jesus is coming again. Hope that His Kingdom will reign forever. And hope that if we’re in Christ, we’re on the winning side.
